toca.chat was created to be a little corner on Matrix for Brazilian furries ("toca" means "den" in Portuguese). A safe and private chat in Matrix's decentralized ecosystem.
It can be a good alternative to Discord or Telegram.

Sorry non-brazilian friends, only brazilians are allowed.

Server information and history

toca.chat started operating on October 22, 2026, at 8:53 p.m (America/Sao_Paulo). Below is a real photo of our server:

Server rules

Rooms and spaces have their own rules, set by their own admins. But here are some general rules that apply to toca.chat as a whole:

Illegal content or behavior under Brazilian law is prohibited. If you're caught doing something illegal, you will be permanently banned and may be reported to the authorities.
NSFW rooms are prohibited in the public directory. Rooms of this kind must be private and, preferably, have encryption enabled.

Media and files

The maximum media upload size is 100 MB.
We'll keep files on the server for 6 months or until I run out of space.
Remote media cache will be cleaned frequently.
We don't support voice/video calls via LiveKit yet :(
